One Direction, Leona Lewis, Little Mix. They all have one thing in common and that is the fact that they made a name for themselves on The X Factor, before going on to enjoy a huge amount of success in the music industry. Then there are other acts including the likes of JLS, Olly Murs, and Alexandra Burke, who has also had successful careers since leaving the show.
While The X Factor does produce a lot of talented singers, with many of them signing on to record deals when they leave the show, there is one girl who has decided to take a different route. Janet Devlin impressed with her unique sound while on The X Factor back in 2011 but, once her series came to an end, things seemed to go quiet with Janet, who chose not to sign up to a big record label.
Instead of making a quick buck off the back of her X Factor fame, Janet Devlin decided to go away, take her time and produce an album that she could be truly proud of. Janet wrote her own songs and managed to get some collaborations on board, including Newton Faulkner and Jack Savoretti, which led to her impressive debut album titled Running With Scissors.
Janet Devlin has already achieved relative success with Running With Scissors, which went to number 1 on the Official UK Independent Album Charts, and she is now preparing for the release of the album over in the US. Running With Scissors will be available to own in the US from February 10 and we cannot recommend it highly enough.
