Jenna Talackova is a transgender woman who is currently pursuing her dream of becoming a model through her reality television series "Brave New Girls". Jenna Talackova became known to the media and general public after she became involved in a fight with the Miss Universe Canada pageant officials which after selecting her as one of the final 65 participants disqualified her before the competition because she "was not born a woman". The case become a media firestorm and she had famous attorney Gloria Allred represent her and eventually the Miss Universe pageant officials allowed her to compete. She eventually was eliminated during the competition but the wheels were set in motion and she is now a media star.

The publicity she received from the competition led to numerous reality show offers and eventually she accepted one that would focus on her pursuit of becoming a model. Jenna Talackova realizes and accepts that while she would prefer to not be stereotyped as the transgender girl she understands that she is in a position where she can help others and thus does not shy from being described as such.
In Jenna Talackova's reality television series she allows the cameras to follow her around the city of Toronto as she pursues her goal of becoming a model as she admits that her ultimate goal is to become a model in Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit magazine and move to Los Angeles. In the meantime while pursuing her goal of becoming a model she is in school studying to be a holistic nutritionist and she has become a role model for transgender women and men.

It would have been very easy for Jenna Talackova, transgender beauty queen, to give up when she was initially disqualified from the Miss Universe Canada beauty pageant and not pursue the competition but instead she decided to fight and in the process she has been able to pursue her chosen career. It is her willingness to fight and compete for what she wants which makes many believe that she might beat the odds and become a successful model.
