The daughter of Hollywood actor Jim Carrey, Jane Carrey was one of the many hopefuls who auditioned for this season of American Idol. 24 year old Jane attended the San Diego round of auditions in a bid to become the next American Idol. Jane revealed how she has been singing since she was just a young girl and admitted that she had told her father that she would be auditioning.
Carrey explained, "It was definitely fun growing up with him as a father. He's definitely not the most extravagant celebrity so it's been fairly normal. Fairly!” She added, “The last name definitely helps and hurts. I feel like there is this pressure to maybe be better. If I make it somewhere it runs the risk of people saying, 'You're only here because of this'."
American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez remembered Jane Carrey from several years previous, when she worked with Jim Carrey. Jane chose to sing the song Something to Talk About earning herself three yeses and a ticket to Hollywood, much to the delight of her father.
