Following the death of Paul Walker, it was unclear what was going to happen to the hit movie franchise The Fast and the Furious, which made Paul a global superstar. Paul passed away during the filming of Furious 7, which led to many believing that it would be the last instalment of the movie franchise.
However, since Furious 7 became such a huge success, grossing over $1.51bn worldwide, it has been confirmed that there re plans to make a Fast and Furious 8 film, which has fans of the franchise wondering what will happen with the film. We will obviously not get to see Paul Walker back as Brian O'Connor, so how will the movie work and which characters will actually return for the project.
At the end of Furious 7, we saw Brian O'Connor leaving with Mia Toretto, which means that, if we are not going to see Brian returning for Fast and Furious 8, then surely there will be no Mia either? Well, since it was announced that there will be a Fast and Furious 8, there have been rumours that we will, in fact, see Jordana Brewster returning as Mia.
With that said, it is still early days in the development stages of Fast and Furious 8, so it could still be some time before we get any official word of which characters will return. If Jordana Brewster does return as Mia for Fast and Furious 8, what will that mean for Brian O'Connor? Will they use Paul Walker's brothers and CGI again? Or will they leave him out completely? We guess we will just have to wait and see.
Fast and Furious 8 is aiming for an April 14, 2017 release date.
