Josh Hutcherson surprised many of his fans during an interview at the San Diego Comic Con when he revealed that not only is he 'not' a fan of social media but he regularly rebels against it by not using it despite having almost three million Twitter followers (Hit Flix - July 13).

The comments of the talented actor caught some entertainment fans off-guard until he explained that he believed social media platforms such as Twitter and Instagram are often misused as he feels that people use them to project an idea of what they want to be in the world instead of using the social media platforms to show who they really are.
The fact that the Hunger Games star was willing to speak out about what he feels are the dangers of young people not wanting to celebrate who they 'really' are and the response was him being embraced and applauded for doing so by entertainment viewers on the Internet is an example of his immense popularity and connection with viewers.

Social media is one of the most popular forms of communication among the younger generation of which the twenty-two years old actor is a considerable part and the fact that he would actually criticize a medium that has helped make him popular is one of the many reasons entertainment fans see him as a fearless actor.
Courage and fearlessness is sexy and to some entertainment fans is willingness to voice his opinion on topics such as social media and gay rights without hesitation is something which endears him to fans and likely will attract even more viewers to the next installment of "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay-Part 2" that is due for release in November 2015.
