Former Eastenders actress Kara Tointon starred on the show for many years, before people discovered that she was actually dyslexic. Kara has now spoken out about dyslexia, saying that she is a huge fan of the Quick Read books for dyslexic people, as they are a great way to build confidence.

Tointon was chatting to Yourwellness magazine, when she told them, "Being dyslexic, I often find picking up a book quite daunting so Galaxy Quick Reads are really helpful."
She added, "As well as building your confidence in your reading skills, they’re the perfect way to discover new authors and read something you wouldn’t normally choose. I love the fact they’ll help others like me and people will realise they’re not alone in their struggle with reading."

Kara Tointon played the role of Dawn in Eastenders for 337 episodes, between 2005 and 2009 but has not exactly gone on to have the huge career that many expected. Kara has only appeared in a handful of shows and movies, most notably, winnin Strictly Come Dancing in 2010. She will star in the movie Last Passenger, with Dougray Scott, which opens in the UK on October 11.
