Things are going really well for Karen Gillan at the moment, as she finds herself an actress very much in demand, following her exit from Doctor Who. Karen will play the role of Nebula in the Marvel movie Guardians of the Galaxy but, before then, she has the small matter of her new movie Oculus.
For those of you who have been waiting to cast your eyes on Oculus, well you will be pleased to know that you do not have long to wait for the first opportunity. It has been confirmed that Oculus will get its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival this month.
Oculus is a horror movie that centres on a woman, who attempts to exonerate her brother after he was convicted of murder that he did not commit. The woman sets out to prove that the murder was actually Committed by a supernatural phenomenon.
As well as starring Karen Gillan, Oculus also stars Katee Sackhoff, James Lafferty, Brenton Thwaites and Rory Cochrane. Oculus is directed by Mike Flanagan, based on the screenplay that he developed with Jeff Seidman and Jeff Howard. Oculus will show at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 8, with screenings following on September 10 and 15.
