Singer Katy Perry is set to appear in the Fox television series Raising Hope and it has been confirmed that Katy will be playing a prison attendant, claiming to be from one of the characters past. Katy has revealed how Shannon Woodward, who plays Sabrina in Raising Hope, is a close friend of hers and she asked is she would be interested in the role.

Perry explained, "Shannon Woodward is my best friend. A couple weeks ago, I was home, just toasting up a frozen chicken fillet when she called me up and asked if I wanted to do something 'fun' for a change and try out a guest role on her TV show. I thought, 'Sure, I have nothing else to do, and I like chillin' with my best friend'."
Meanwhile, Greg Garcia, the executive producer on Raising Hope, said that Perry "came in and did a terrific job", while perry joked, "Greg was nice, but I hope he's not secretly sabotaging my potential future career by type-casting me in the role of just a looker, so that I would never be able to play anything more challenging." The Katy Perry episode of Raising Hope is set to air on March 6 on Fox.
