Actress Jennifer Lawrence has become one of the biggest and best stars in the acting industry today and even though she does possess a huge amount of acting talent, she does owe a lot to the fact that she was cast as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games movies. With those movies coming to an end last year, there has been talk of The Hunger Games prequels being made, which would see a younger actress being cast in the role of Katniss Everdeen. Here we take a look at some of the young stars who have the talent to replace Jennifer Lawrence in the role.
First up, we have the very talented actress Kiernan Shipka, who has been growing and improving as an actress every year, finding herself being linked to a number of new roles for the coming years. At the age of 16, Kiernan could definitely have what it takes to play a younger Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games prequels, as well as having the acting talent to pull off the role.
Next up we have another very exciting young talent, with the promising actress Rowan Blanchard, who is probably best known for her role in the hit television series Girl Meets World. Over the past few years, Rowan has shown that she definitely has the talent to shoulder a big role on the big screen and what better role to give her career a boost, than by playing Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games prequels?
Finally, we have the very promising actress Mackenzie Foy, who has already appeared in some very big movies, such as Interstellar, while she is best known for playing the role of Renesmee in the final two installments of The Twilight Saga. Mackenzie is still only 15 years old and is already looking set to have a huge future in Hollywood, which could well kick on with the role of Katniss.
With all that said, there has still been no official word that we are definitely going to see The Hunger Games prequels getting made and, if they ever do actually get the go ahead, these three stars could well be too old to play a young Katniss Everdeen. Watch this space!
