Hollywood actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead stars alongside Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul in the movie Smashed and she has been talking about how she prepared for the role. Mary plays a woman who has a drinking problem, which is worsened by her boyfriends own drinking issues and Mary claims that she and Aaron got drunk together to get into character.

Winstead was talking to Digital Spy when she said, “Aaron and I got drunk together - there was a little method getting into character. It did bond us quickly, because we saw each other in a state where... usually you get to know somebody a little bit more before you quite go off the deep end.”
She added, “We went for it to a bad, bad degree. But then by the time we saw each other on set, we were like 'Okay, we have a history now, at least, we've been somewhere together.”

Smashed is directed by James Ponsoldt and, as well as Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Aaron Paul, the movie also stars Octavia Spencer, Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally. Smashed was out in the US on limited release earlier this year and is set to be released in the UK on December 14.
