Books being adapted into big screen movies have been happening for years now and they will continue to happen for many more to come. Next year we will get the movie Divergent, which will see Mekhi Phifer in the role of Max and he says that, while he does not have a huge role in Divergent, we will see more of Max in the sequels Insurgent and Allegiant.

Phifer explained, "You'll definitely see Max in the movie. I make a lot of little speeches and things like that, lead and sort of delegate and things like that. The first book and the first film is really more about establishing characters."
He added, "I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with him in 'Insurgent,' because after talking to my director Neil [Burger], he's telling me, 'We have got some great stuff that Max does as the leader.' I'm looking forward to that. I mean, I do some cool stuff, but not at the magnitude of what Theo [James] and obviously Shailene [Woodley] had to do."

As well as starring Mekhi Phifer, Divergent also stars Shailene Woodley, Kate Winslet, Theo James, Miles Teller, Jai Courtney, Ray Stevenson, Ashley Judd, Maggie Q and Zoë Kravitz. Divergent is directed by Neil Burger and opens on March 21, 2014 in both the US and the UK.
