Every no and then we get a bit of a trend going on in Hollywood, such as the vampire trend, which spawned a lot of different vampire movies and television shows. Now there seems to be a trend with projects focusing on classic children's tales, with different television shows and movies coming out.
Meryl Streep stars in Into the Woods
The next project we will see that focuses on the classic children's tales is the upcoming movie Into the Woods, which stars Johnny Depp and Meryl Streep. We have seen a few bits of promotional material for the movie recently and now the new Into the Woods trailer has been released.
There are no doubt a fair few of you who already know what Into the Woods is all about but, if you want to know a little bit more about the film, it is officially describerd as, "A witch conspires to teach important lessons to various characters of popular children's stories including Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk and Rapunzel."
Anna Kendrick is also in the film
As well as starring Johnny Depp and Meryl Streep, the impressive Into the Woods cast also includes the likes of Anna Kendrick, Emily Blunt, Chris Pine, Lucy Punch, Christine Baranski, and James Corden, plus many more. Into the Woods is directed by Rob Marshall, with the screenplay written by James Lapine and the music and lyrics coming from Stephen Sondheim.
Into the Woods will open on December 25 in the US, before then going on to hit the big screen on January 9, 2015 in the UK.
