It has been a rather confusing few days surrounding seven time Formula One world champion Michael Schumacher, as he is still in hospital in a coma following his ski crash accident. It was first claimed that he was starting to breathe on his own, before that claim was shot down by his management team who insist only official statements from themselves should be listened to.

The it was claimed by doctors and medical experts that it would take a miracle for Michael Schumacher to make a full recovery, with suggestions that if he did even come round, he would never be able to live a full and active life. Now, it seems that his family are more upbeat and positive about things, as they claim that he has been showing some encouraging signs.
The family released an official statement, which read/. "It was clear from the start that this will be a long and hard fight for Michael. We are and remain confident that Michael will pull through and will wake up. There sometimes are small, encouraging signs, but we also know that this is the time to be very patient. We try to channel all the energies we have toward Michael and we firmly believe that this will help him. And we believe that he will also win this fight."
