Singer Nicki Minaj was recently in the press for her big bust up with her fellow American Idol judge Mariah Carey. Nicki has now opened up about the feud, stating that she was not happy about the situation and that she considers Mariah to be one of her favourite artists of all time.

Minaj explained, “She's been one of my favourite artists of all time since I can remember, so it's weird that everything kind of, was blown up like that. It didn't make me happy at all. I can't take away what she's done in my life and just in pop culture in general and just having one of the most amazing voices in the world.”
She then went on to say, “Having said that, I'm an adult and we are passionate on the set and sometimes when you're a passionate woman, you know, sometimes it kind of ruffles other women's feathers, but I'm going to continue to be Nicki Minaj.”

Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey are new to the judging panel on American Idol, along with Keith Urban, as they replaced the departing Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler. The ever present Randy Jackson is once again on the judging panel for the new season of American Idol, which premieres in January.
