Outkast have confirmed that they are set to hit the studio later this year for the recording of a new album, which is likely to be released sometime in 2012. The new album will be the seventh studio album released by Outkast and will be their first together since the release of ‘Idlewild’ in 2006.
Outkast are made up of the hip hop duo Andre 3000 and Big Boi, who are currently finishing up working on their individual solo projects, before reuniting for their new Outkast album. Big Boi recently revealed to radio one DJ Zane Lowe that an Outkast record was brewing but didn’t reveal any more than that.
Now a source has confirmed that the duo are set to have a record done and dusted, ready for release by next year. The insider explained, "Outkast are on track to release a new album by early next year. Both Dre and Big are working on solo projects; they want those out by the end of 2011."
