It has been reported that Lord Of The Rings director Peter Jackson is in need of a couple of hundred extras, from New Zealand, to appear in his latest project The Hobbit. Peter needs people who are willing to play townspeople and elves in the background for his forthcoming project.
A report read, “This week, advertisements are appearing in South Canterbury and Otago newspapers seeking people interested in being extras in the film – as townspeople and elves. For townspeople, production company 3foot7 said it wanted men and women between 30 and 80 years old with interesting character faces – men with beards. ‘All shapes, sizes and ethnicities welcome,’ the studio said.”
It continued, “For elves, it wants people between 17 and 35 years old, more than 168cm in height. The casting calls will take place at the Wanaka St John training rooms on September 23; Twizel Events Centre and Tekapo Community Hall on September 24; and Oamaru Opera House Empire Room on September 25.” So if you are in any of these areas in New Zealand and think you have what it takes, be sure to head on down and take your chance.
