Mark Clattenburg is the referee at the centre of the race storm with Chelsea, following claims that he used racist language towards John Obi Mikel. While Chelsea have issued an official complaint against Mark Clattenburg, he has received support from a number of Premier League managers.

John Obi Mikel clearly unhappy with Mark Clattenburg
Chelsea could be made to look very foolish if it turns out that there was no racial slur involved and, according to Clattenburg’s assistants on the sidelines, he did not say anything of the sort. Mark is linked to the two linesmen and the fourth official so that they can hear what each other says and they have claimed not to have heard anything racist.
Now, managers from Premier League clubs have come out to defend Mark Clattenburg, as well as managers from lower divisions. Sir Alex Ferguson has given his support to Clattenburg, claiming that he cannot believe that he would say such a thing. While, Neil Warnock has also supported the referee.

However, Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo has told his fellow managers to back off and to mind their own business and let the situation be dealt with by those in charge. It currently appears that Chelsea could just be grasping at straws and, if Mark Clattenburg is found innocent, Chelsea and John Obi Mikel should be punished for making such damaging accusations.
