British actor Ralph Fiennes has revealed how he found his directorial debut rather difficult, due to the fact he was also starring in the movie. Ralph is directing and starring in his modern day version of the Shakespeare play Coriolanus and admitted that he had doubts about doing both.
Fiennes explained, "there were times it was really hard to go back and look at the monitor. I've been indulged by directors who allowed me an extra take but I had to deny myself, it was hard.” He added, "There was some quite brutal comments. There was one scorecard that said, ‘This will be a financial disaster.'"
Coriolanus centres around a banished hero of Rome, who decides to join forces with a sworn enemy to exact his revenge on the city. The movie stars Jessica Chastain, Gerard Butler and Brian Cox, as well as Ralph himself. It is set to be released in the US on January 13, 2012 and the UK on January 20, 2012.
