There have been a lot of complaints about a lack of originality in Hollywood these days but, when it comes to the movie industry, the main focus is about making money over anything else. So, it is no surprise then, that when something works and makes a lot of money, that formula is going to be stuck to and rinsed for as much money as it possibly can be.
Reese Witherspoon will play Tinkerbell
Just take Disney, for example. They have been enjoying a huge amount of success with their live-action adaptations over the past few years, so have naturally decided to bring us plenty more over the coming years. We already know that we are going to get a live-action adaptation of Mulan, Pinnochio, Dumbo, and The Little Mermaid, and now it looks like another Disney character is heading to the big screen.
It has been confirmed that Disney are bringing us a live-action adaptation of the classic Peter Pan character Tinkerbell, with the movie telling the story from the fairies point of view. Casting already looks to be underway for the new movie, with Hollywood actress Reese Witherspoon the favourite to take on the lead role of Tinkerbell for the movie, replacing Elizabeth Banks, who has pulled out of the project.

While previous Disney live-action movies have had some pretty big budgets, with Maleficent being made on a budget of $180m and Cinderella on a budget of $95m, it has been claimed that Tinkerbell, which is being officially titled Tink, will be made on a much smaller budget. We look forward to seeing how much more live-action adaptations Disney decide to bring us.
