Catweazle the movie is edging ever closer to securing Welsh actor Rhys Ifans in the title role of Catweazle. Director John Henderson, along with Ettinger Brothers Film Producrions, have been courting Ifans for some time, hoping to persuade him to take the role, which is perfectly suited to the actor.

Catweazle is a comedy adventure movie, which centres around a wizard who is on the run from the Norman invasion. However, he gets mysteriously transported into the future, arriving in the present day. Catweazle must discover a way to get himself back to 1066 and undertakes the assistance of a farmers young son.
Catweazle the movie was initially expected to be released this year but the Ettinger Brothers were dead set on casting Ifans in the lead role, so filming has yet to begin. With Rhys edging closer to signing on for the project, filming could soon begin. Rhys Ifans can next be seen on the big screen, when he appears as Dr. Curt Connors aka The Lizard in The Amazing Spider-Man, which is due for release on July 3, 2012.
