Singer Adele is probably already used to having to get up and make speeches at award ceremonies, having won a number of music awards in the past, but she has now won her first ever Oscar. Adele has been receiving messages if praise and congratulations, after taking home the Best Original Song Oscar for her theme to the James Bond movie Skyfall.

Rihanna praised Adele
Rihanna took to her official Twitter account to congratulate Adele, saying, "Jah Reign #Adele congrats on your first Oscar," while Kelly Clarkson wrote on her Twitter, "Way to go @officialadele!! Super happy for you girl! ....and awesome speech :)"
Meanwhile, Zooey Deschanel chipped in to praise the singer, simply saying, "Adele is pretty perfect," while even Bette Midler got involved in the praise, adding, "Ok trying again the beautiful @OfficialAdele wins The Academy Award! Good on ye girl!! So thrilled for you!"

Zooey Deschanel also added some praise
Adele fought off tough competition for the Best Original Song Oscar, from the likes of Ted, Les Misérables and Life of Pi but was considered the worthy winner. Adele also took to the stage to perform Skyfall at the Academy Awards, which was her first live performance since she gave birth to her son back in October.
