Twilight hunk Robert Pattinson has become one of the most recognisable faces in the world, being offered movies left, right and centre, but it was not always like this and there was once a time when casting directors had no idea who he was. With that in mind, Robert has admitted that he used to go in to his auditions and put on a fake American accent, as he felt his British accent restricted him from the roles people would cast him in.
Pattinson was chatting at the Cannes Film Festival, where he is promoting his new movie Good Time, when he revealed, "I would do an impression. I would have another character to go to an audition to play a different character."
He added, "I don't know how much of it was really me other than being really manic. No one really sees that. That's a private thing. I'm someone who just stops at a red light and I'm just revving."
He continued, "Because we were shooting guerrilla style, I was so nervous [about] people finding out about the shoot and paparazzi being there. It destroys the illusion of it. What I was doing as a person was feeding into the character, trying to disappear, trying to be a ghost in the crowd."
As well as starring Robert Pattinson in the movie, the Good Time Cast also includes such talented stars as Barkhad Abdi and Jennifer Jason Leigh. Meanwhile, as well as appearing in the movie, Ben Safdie also co-directed the movie along with Joshua Safdie. While Good Time has been featuring at the Cannes Film Festival, it is not due for official release in the US until August 11.
