Ryan Gosling and Charlize Theron are two names that most people would never expect to see connected to the Oscar Pistorius and Reeva Steenkamp case. However, The Sun is reporting that Gosling and Theron are the top choices to play Pistorius and Steenkamp, respectively, in a film about the now infamous murder case.
A source in Hollywood tells the Sun that two scripts on the story are currently being developed and an announcement is pending from a major studio.
The source adds, "You’ve got one of the world’s most famous sportsmen under arrest and a beautiful young woman who meets a violent death. Scripts began doing the rounds within days of the scandal breaking. Ryan has the kind of quiet magnetism that would make this project work – plus there’s some mystery about him. Although Ryan has been saying publicly that he wants to take a break from acting to relax, executives will be falling over themselves to woo him once the scripts are finalised.”
Gosling is currently taking a break from acting, and will soon be directing his own directorial debut, 'How To Catch A Monster', starring Saoirse Ronan and Christina Hendricks. Whether he actually signs on for this rumored Oscar Pistorius film, we'll have to see, but if he does, don't expect it to go into production within the next year.
