There has been a lot of talk for many years now, about a possible sequel to the hit 1982 movie Blade Runner and it now looks like the movie is finally getting made. Director Ridley Scott is pushing ahead with the project and has already cast Ryan Gosling in Blade Runner 2, with Ridley praising the actor for his youthful good looks.

Scott was chatting to Yahoo Movies about what year the Blade Runner sequel will be set in, when he said, "It was 2017, so coming back it'll be 2047, roughly. As young as you can play Ryan Gosling. He's 34, but he looks 27 when he's doing his push-ups. So maybe 2050."
This then led to Ridley Scott being asked about whether there were plans to make even more Blade Runner movies, since he had cast a younger actor, in Ryan Gosling in the movie, to which he was very honest about. Ridley suggested that there could well be future Blade Runner films, since making long-lasting franchises seems to be the norm these days.

Scott added, "Listen: Everyone else is, so why not? I love to work. The French say, 'Work to live, and I live to work. I'm very lucky to have a job that I adore. Some of it's trying, but it's like being in professional sport. It's so competitive [that] you better keep bouncing the ball. You can't rest."
As well as introducing Ryan Gosling to the Blade Runner universe, we are also going to see the return of Harrison Ford, reprising his role as Rick Deckard for the sequel. Blade Runner 2 is currently in pre-production and we are excited about finding out when we can expect to see the new movie hit the big screen.
