There have been so many different rumours about Star Wars: Episode VII, ever since it was confirmed that Disney were going ahead with the movie. There have been rumours about spin-off movies, television shows, origin films and casting, with most of the casting rumours being about the return of former Star Wars characters.

Saoirse Ronan was lined to the role
Then there are the rumours about potential new characters and the stars that will play them. One of the more recent rumours suggested that Saoirse Ronan was in talks for a lead role in Star Wars: Episode VII and had even been in to read for the role.
With the amount of rumours that are flying around at the moment, it is hard to determine which ones are completely false and which have some truth to them. Fortunately, Saoirse has addressed these rumours herself, telling Sky News that she has read for a role in Star Wars: Episode VII, although she admits that she faces stiff competition.

Saoirse has confirmed she read for the role
There is no denying that Saoirse Ronan is a very talented actress and she could certainly hold her own in such a huge franchise but, until we hear official word of any casting, it is just wishful thinking.
