Irish actress Saoirse Ronan has been proving that she certainly has what it takes to be one of the top stars in Hollywood, with a number of impressive performances over the years. Saoirse has been in the movie making business since she was a young girl and has really come into her own.
Saoirse Ronan will return for the sequel
Saoirse Ronan starred in the 2008 movie City of Ember and, while the movie was not exactly a huge success, it has developed a bit of a cult following. This has led to a decision to go ahead and make a City of Ember 2 movie and Saoirse Ronan has agreed to return for the film.
At the end of City of Ember, we see Saoirse Ronan's character leaving the city and discovering that there is a whole world above ground. City of Ember 2 will focus on life above ground and how they cope with these new conditions, as well as what has happened to the city below ground.

It has not yet been confirmed who else from the original City of Ember movie will be returning but it is believed that both Bill Murray and Tim Robbins will again have a small role to play in the film. City of Ember 2 is ready to get shooting as soon as possible, with a 2014 release date planned.
