Sean Hayes made a name for himself in his supporting role on 'Will & Grace,' and now he's back in a show all his own. In 'Sean Saves the World' Hays plays a busy single father who is also gay. While the show is mostly a comedy, the interesting dynamic with his teenage daughter (played by Samanta Isler) promises to bring up some social issues as well. For example, take this tidbit from the premiere, after Sean's on-screen daughter asks him if he can truly be gay if he had her:

"Gay. Tried not to be. Was. Was again. Was one more time because it was not unpleasant. Am."
The show's creator Victor Fresco prefers to stay clear of the typical sitcom fare, which promises to make sure this show is smart as well as funny. There is some silliness, however, which comes mostly from Sean's over-the-top boss, Max played by Thomas Lennon.

Lennon may just be the star who steals the show, as the completely crazy way he reacts to his employees keeps viewers both confused and entertained. Scenes with Thomas really become a treat the more you see them and Max steals the show when he's on the screen.
'Sean Saves the World,' airs Thursdays at 9pm EST on NBC.
