White Bird in a Blizzard has been set in 1988 and focusses on a young girl called Kate whose mother disappears mysteriously. Kat barely even acknowledges that her mom has gone until she comes home on a break from college and starts to come to terms with the disappearance. As she begins to accept the truth surrounding the disappearance of her mother's, Kate has to face her own denial about the events involved in it.

As well as starring Shailene Woodley, the White Bird in a Blizzard cast also includes the likes of Eva Green, Christopher Meloni, Shiloh Fernandez, Gabourey Sidibe, Thomas Jane and Angela Bassett. White Bird in a Blizzard has been directed by Gregg Araki, who also wrote the adaptation for the big screen, based on the hit novel of the same name by Laura Kasischke.
