Back in 1999 Mattel brought us the action figure Max Steel and, following the success of the toy, it was decided that a television series would be made. Disney XD came up with the spin of show, which also went on to be a success, leading to plans for a Max Steel movie to be made.

Now, many of you may well remember that Joe Roth tried to get a Max Steel movie off the ground, which would have seen Twilight hunk Taylor Lautner in the lead role. Unfortunately, this Max Steel movie got stuck in development hell and never managed to get made.
That has not stopped Mattel from pushing ahead with a planned Max Steel movie though and, this time around, they are going for lesser known stars for the lead roles. It has been reported that young and talented actress Skyler Samuels has been auditioning for the female lead in the Max Steel movie.

Some of you will know Skyler Samuels from her roles in ABC’s The Gates and ABC Family’s The Nine Lives of Chloe King. Stewart Hendler will direct Max Steel, from a script penned by Christopher Yost. With actors now testing for roles, it should not be too long before we get some official casting confirmation.
