There has been a lot of attention on surfer Stephanie Gilmore recently and most of it for the wrong reasons. Stephanie has come in for a lot of criticism following her recent video for Roxy, with some people eve calling it soft porn. Now, Stephanie's father has opened up about the video, laughing off these suggestions and defending his daughter.

Mr Gilmore explained, "I liked it. She's a little bit older now and knows exactly what she's doing. People missed the point of it about guessing who she was. If Roxy and Steph can get more people to watch women's surfing, then it's a good thing. You'll never see her wearing bikinis in surf competitions."
He added, "I can't recall seeing her wearing one in a competition. Even when she does, she doesn't wear those really small Brazilian-style ones. I've spoken to Steph and Whitney (sister and manager) and they've had a bit of a laugh about some of the complaints. Most of it is laughable."
