When it was announced that Smallville was coming to an end, fans of the hit The CW series were distraught, wondering where on Earth they were going to get their fix of DC from. Then, it was announced that The CW was going to bring Green Arrow to the small screen, with the television series Arrow.
Stephen Amell stars in Arrow
From the moment it was announced that Arrow would air on The CW, fans began to get excited at seeing Justin Hartley back as Oliver Queen aka Green Arrow. Unfortunately though, The CW wanted to make Arrow fresh and new and decided that a new actor would be cast in the role, once again upsetting fans.
The Smallville fans were eager to see Justin Hartley return as Green Arrow, so once it was announced that Stephen Amell was cast as Oliver Queen, these fans criticised the decision. However, with just one season of Arrow down, the fans have come round and can now accept Stephen Amell as Green Arrow.

The show has been a huge success and will lead to The Flash getting his own show, following a few appearances on Arrow season 2. While Justin Hartley will always be considered the real Green Arrow by some, Stephen Amell has certainly put his own stamp on the role.
