Actress Cote de Pablo is known to fans of NCIS for her role as Ziva David and during her time on the show she became a favourite of many fans. As such, when the news came that she would not be returning in 2014 it was not received well by many fans and some are still hoping that the talented actress might return to the show in the fall of 2014.

She was not 'killed' off the show so for many fans there is the possibility that she can come back to the show and recently the spirits of those fans was lifted considerably because of an interview one of the show's producers, Gary Glasberg had with TVLine about the issue.
During the interview he noted that he is not averse to keeping the door open to a potential return but he feels any discussion about her character must be one in which it "feels organic to the storytelling" and that the show is not just putting lines about Ziva indiscriminately in the show.

Interestingly, while there has been much discussion about her potentially returning to the show nothing has been heard from the beautiful actress but that has always been the situation with her as she loves her privacy. Many actors and actresses can be found on social media through Twitter or Facebook but she is on neither and is not one for the Hollywood party circuit.
The Chilean born actress has always enjoyed traveling back home to Chile during her film breaks and it seems that since she left "NCIS" she has taken advantage of the time to do some movie work.
She is part of the movie, "The 33" which is in post-production and is based on the real-life event of the collapse of a gold and copper mine which trapped 33 miners underground for 69 days.
Cote de Pablo was a 'mysterious' woman while on the show "NCIS" as she never let anyone know everything about her and she maintains the same philosophy off screen so it is anyone's guess whether she will be coming back or not to "NCIS" but one thing is certain and that is she is definitely missed by the fans of the show and thus the potential will likely remain open until closure for fans is attained.
