While the DC movie universe has been less than impressive so far, especially with the disappointment of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the DC television universe has been very impressive so far and just looks to keep getting bigger and better. The CW has been leading the way with the DC television universe and they are continuing to grow and improve all the time.
Fans were delighted to learn that Supergirl would be making the move over to The CW for its second season and that we are going to see some crossover episodes with Arrow, The Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow. Now though, it looks like Supergirl will also be joined by one of the biggest characters in the DC universe at some point in season 2.
It has been confirmed that we are finally going to get to see Superman making an actual appearance in Supergirl season 2. We have already had glimpses of the character in season 1, as well as flashbacks at a young Kal-El, but we are now finally going to see the actual grown up version of the character on the show.
While it has been claimed that there will be a new actor cast in the role, many fans have urged The CW to bring back Tom Welling in the role of Superman, after the actor spent so many years playing Clark Kent on the small screen. With that said though, Tom has previously admitted that he would find it awkward to return to the role, so we will just have to wait and see what happens.
