Canadian actress Vanessa Lengies is an established star on television as she has played feature roles on shows such as "Hawthorne", "Glee", "American Dreams", "My Music" and "Mixology" but it is her recent performance in the latter show that has earned her the attention of some prominent filmmakers and entertainment insiders.

She has demonstrated an ability to improvise and a dramatic 'strength' in her co-star appearances in "Mixololgy" that has some entertainment insiders thinking that she is now ready to make the move from feature performer on the television screens to leading lady on the big screen.
She seems to be moving in this direction as well as she is scheduled to soon begin filming for the horror/thriller movie "Happy Birthday", a movie in which she will play the leading role. One example of her improvisation ability that has attracted the attention of entertainment insiders and filmmakers was her character Kacy's response to Dom's statement that he wants to go 'all in' for a relationship.

Her immediate response was "shut up" as if she was in disbelief but also it showed her ability to be 'all in' with her character. She embraced who the character actually was and while it may not have resonated with an audience in a major way it likely caught the attention of entertainment professionals as confirmation of her being able to become 'the character' even if the character is far removed from her normal personality.
She has not lacked for work as an actress since 2008 and with her recent performance in "Mixology" as Kacey it seems that she has become a favourite of not just television producers and directors but also movie filmmakers looking for someone who can be a leading lady on the big screen.
