There had been a lot of rumours going around recently that Chronicle director Josh Trank was going to be directing the reboot of the Fantastic Four movie. However, Josh has since claimed that he knows nothing about it and even hinted that he would probably not be interested in directing another superhero movie so soon after Chronicle.
Trank explained, “I know as much as you guys know. I'm totally serious. I know as much as you. I saw that leak online and I was like, ‘Um, okay, I'm trying to finish Chronicle right now.’ This is weird. There's nothing to say, Chronicle is exactly the kind of superhero movie that I wanted to make and, going forward, I want to have some original ideas and different things I'm working on.”
With that said it does seem that a new director for the Fantastic Four reboot will need to be brought in and we expect that we will be hearing a lot more about it in the coming weeks and months. As for Josh Trank, his big screen directorial debut Chronicle has already been very impressive in its opening weekend, beating the Daniel Radcliffe movie The Woman in Black to the top of the box office.
