Following the success of the hit 1995 movie Jumanji, there were many calls for a sequel to get made, with many rumours circulating for many years that we were going to get a Jumanji sequel, which unfortunately never came. Following the passing of the legendary Robin Williams, it looked like we might never get a new Jumanji movie, with many people hoping that the film would now be left alone.

However, with wrestler turned actor Dwayne Johnson wanting to take on pretty much every movie project ever, it was no real surprise when it was announced that he had signed on to star in a new Jumanji movie, which upset millions of fans around the world. Not only do fans feel that there is no need to revisit Jumanji, but they also feel that someone like Dwayne Johnson will ruin what made the original so great.
While it sounds like Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle will not exactly be a direct sequel, with none of the original cast appearing in the new film, it has been claimed that it will pay some sort of homage to that Robin Williams Jumanji movie. While we are not expecting great things from Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, we will give it a chance and hope that it will not completely ruin the memory of a Robin Williams classic.

As well as starring Dwayne Johnson, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle will also feature Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, Jack Black, and Missy Pyle, among others. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle has been directed by Jake Kasdan, based on a screenplay developed by Chris McKenna, with the movie set to hit the big screen on December 20 in both the UK and the US.
