Will Smith and Martin Lawrence star in Bad Boys
Just when people begin to give up hope on Bad Boys 3 happening, something comes along to get us all excited again and this time it is from Jerry Bruckheimer himself. It looks like Bad Boys 3 is closer to getting made than ever before, as Jerry has confirmed that a treatment for the film is in the works, with hopes of a screenplay being written by the end of the year.
Bruckheimer was chatting to the guys over at Collider, when he explained to them, "Well, we're working on an outline right now. Hopefully we'll get a screenplay in the next three months. And that will become a movie I hope. We always focus on the place where the action's going to take place, which is Miami [in Bad Boys]. We research it and figure out what's actually going on down in Miami with criminals and what they're doing. We bring in experts. And that's how the screenplays evolve."

Bad Boys 3 could be on the way
The first two Bad Boys films were very successful, with the first Bad Boys movie being made on a budget of $19m back in 1995, going on to gross $141m worldwide. Following that, Bad Boys 2 was released back in 2003, on a budget of $130m, going on to gross $262m worldwide.
